Suing for Accessibility
The Squeaky Wheelchair Gets the Grease, act three of the This American Life episode Crybabies, discusses the lack of accessibility common to places of businesses. Because the Americans with Disabilities Act has no enforcement agency, in most cases the only way to guarantee that a business is up to code is for a person with a disability to sue when it isn't. This episode discusses the ways in which various businesses are inaccessible, and goes into the position the law puts people with disabilities in by either preventing them from frequenting certain places or forcing them to sue.
