This article, from Sports Illustrated, covers the game from a couple seasons ago when Duke player Gerald Henderson got a little too rough and gave UNC player Tyler Hansbrough a bloody nose.
The Duke-UNC rivalry is one of the most intense and storied rivalries in college basketball. Henderson added fuel to the fire by choosing to get a little too defensive with one of UNC's biggest players. Pat Forde's coverage not only goes over exactly what happened but also questions how it affects both team's images. He argues that though Hansbrough was the one who left the court bloody, Duke is really the team with the "black eye" who comes off looking bad. Forde reminds the reader of previous bad behavior on the part of Duke players--including Art Heyman's famous fight in 1961--and shows that maybe there is a reason Americans feel such hatred toward Duke basketball.
